I am currently serving as an AmeriCorps VISTA member, doing homeless outreach

assigned to work on behalf of the Salvation Army in Caldwell.

​

Before my first day of work I read several surveys, reports and demographics on a variety of communities,

and the impact of poverty and homelessness throughout the United States. 

While it all was extremely useful to understand the layers of poverty and homelessness in our country,

I felt it created only a partial portrait of a much larger picture.

Data alone doesn't reflect the personal side of people living in poverty and those who are homeless. 

​

Each person has their own unique story.

​

Homeless in Caldwell is my personal journal of the people I have met;

the homeless and people in the City of Caldwell who offer assistance.
